Hey diddle diddle......

This was an absolute blast to do.... first, I have made it my answer to everyone over the years who's told me I should illustrate children's books instead of tattoo.... so there :P lol.  Second... the woman wearing this is so pale that the colors just glow on her. We've also started talking about a Mayan priestess ladybug scene (complete with sacrificial aphid) for her other arm.... And... has commissioned a flamingo painting (that I'm starting tonight) Wheee! 

Sometimes work is too much fun to be 'work' :)

Been a while....

Long story short.... bought a house, not just any house... a 1867 victorian (squeeeee!!!!) Ok, I'm very excited about my new project ( people have done nasty modernizing things to it that I must undo) so I realized the other day that not only have I not painted much at all but I have let this blog die :(

So, because I have no new paintings and I'd like to begin the resurrecting of this blog I will share some photos of my new baby (house) and some tattoos I've done recently....

These two are different angles of the third floor (formerly) maid's quarters.... and what will be my art studio. It's huge and interestingly shaped... I love it.

Pretty lily for a first timer... it took 3 hrs and she was a trooper!

This is on Nadia, our periodic counter girl, she is awesome and she lets me do wonderfully bizarre stuff on her.

Mermaid tattoo redo

Girl stopped by the shop recently with a very large mermaid piece that covers her back that we will be reworking. Not all reworks/cover ups are a good time, but I'm looking forward to this one... sometimes it's fun to be able to bring out the potential of a piece a customer isn't satisfied with. This is the result of the first sitting.

Baron Samedi voodoo doll tattoo

This tattoo is a result of a silly brain-storming conversation that I don't remember much of now :) I learned some new things with this tattoo... Baron Samedi is one of the spirits of Haitian voodoo and chrysanthemums are symbolic of death and a real pain to tattoo wilted!

Goldfish Tattoos

I thought I'd posted the little orange goldfish above, but I couldn't find the post so here it is. I finished it last fall, had a grand time doing it and was very excited when his friend came in to get one for himself... the red one above. When we finished I charged him with a quest... to bring me another to put a goldfish on :)

This is what I did at work today, it was kind of a last minute deal but I couldn't resist when she wanted to base it off my seahorse painting. How cool is that?
