Rarely am I ever pleased with a painting when I'm done, but I am pleased with this one. Diane Hoeptner commented in a recent post about the advantage of 'thick and bold' painting over 'thin and timid'. Well, yes, I knew that but I've never put it into practice.. I did with the leaves on this piece and I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked them and how quickly I could work that way! Obviously I need to stop being such a chicken all the time ;) Also, with this piece I've come closest to how I picture my work in my head, yay progress!
