Butterfly Acrylic Painting

Acrylic on watercolor board

Everything's cuter with antenna isn't it? I'm not sure if she's afraid or ready to eat that spider.

Spider Fairy Acrylic Painting

6 x 6
Acrylic on canvas

This is the last of the five 'pay it forward' paintings. This one's for my friend Traci who likes spiders and fairies... and who likes to bust my chops about using purple in my work (I used to have a deep loathing for the color :) I'm hoping this brings a smile to her face.

Peacock Mantis Spider Acrylic Painting - Sold

6 x 6

Acrylic on canvas

The last of the shrimp / spider paintings. This one is based on the peacock mantis shrimp, it's a pretty wild lookin' critter. I have to admit I'm relieved to be done with these, I think I tend to get 'stale' when doing similar works consecutively. Next up I'll be doing five paintings for a 'pay it forward' 'facebook thing' how's that for descriptive? :)

Harlequin Spider Acrylic Painting Redux - Sold

6 x 6

Acrylic on canvas

I woke up this morning and absolutely HATED the version of this painting I posted yesterday. So, what's a girl to do but change it? I like this much better, far more contrast. The background is actually much more green, but no matter what I did with the camera and color correction on the computer I can't get it accurate :/ :::sigh::: At least I'm liking the painting again and that makes everything all right with the world again :)

Harlequin Spider Acrylic Painting
